In order to install an E21 LSD in your 2002 you need either of the following:

• Double drilled axle flanges or '76 2002 axle flanges and 1/4" spacers and longer 8mm bolts to maintain the correct geometry,

• OR early E21 320 CV axles, spacers and 8mm bolts, and some labor to install the CVs on your 2002 half shafts.

Assuming you have completed either one of these options, you will need spacers and longer bolts. Included in this kit is the set of spacers and hardware. The aircraft grade hard-anodized aluminum 6mm spacers and longer 10.9 grade bolts are necessary to maintain the geometry BMW intended for the axles and CVs. Otherwise the CV joints will be stretched, possibly resulting in premature CV joint wear.
